#1-15 May, 1907 - Blair Courier - Isaac Bailey

Mr. I. Bailey, Mrs. M. G. Hathaway’s father, died Monday afternoon from the effects of a paralytic stroke. He was injured while working on the railroad some 34 years ago, and never completely recovered. Sunday morning at the breakfast table he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, which brought on unconsciousness at about midnight, death resulting at about 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. The funeral will be held at the house, first door east of Mrs. Wainwright’s, at 3:30 this afternoon. Two sons, Geo N., Marcelone, Mo. and Frank Bailey of Bucklin, Kansas have arrived to attend the funeral. Also Mrs. Bailey’s brother and sister, Mr. Imri Witney of Peoria, Ill. and Mrs. Molly Breckenridge of Orion, Ill.

The death of Isaac Bailey occurred in Blair Monday afternoon at three o’clock, and the funeral was conducted from his late home yesterday afternoon at half past three, Rev. Axtell officiating. Deceased was born in Minot, Maine January 26, 1829, and was married to Elizabeth E. Whitney October 7, 1862, coming to Nebraska in 1885 and settling on a farm in Webster county. About eight years ago his health began to fail and Mr. and Mrs. Bailey came to Blair where they have since resided. Deceased leaves a wife and three children, the children being Mrs. M. G. Hathaway of this city, George W. of Marshaline, Mo. and Frank of Bucklen, Kansas.
