William Gossard died on his farm out in Pierce county last Wednesday, March 1st, of consumption and the body was brought here on Friday and laid to rest up in the New England cemetery. Mr. Gosard was born in Sandusky Co., Ohio in 1834, and was married to Miss Hannah Cunningham at Hayworth, Ill. in 1857. They came to this county in 1879, and settled on a farm in the New England neighborhood. He sold the place about twelve years ago and after two years spent out in Washington, he bought the farm up in Pierce county where he was living at the time of his death. He leaves a widow, two daughters and four sons, besides one sister, Mrs. A. M. Bovee of this city, and three brothers, Phill Gossard, also of this city, Frank Gossard of Fremont and John Gossard of Herman.
