#2-11 May, 1904 - The Pilot - Nerissa Irene McCann

Nerissa Irene McCann, oldest daughter of Wm. J. and Mammie L. McCann, was born April 18, 1894 near Kennard, Nebraska, and died Monday, May 9th, at 3:30 a.m. of pneumonia. She was ten years and twenty one days old. The deceased was a very kind and affectionate child, thoughtful beyond her years. Our God permitted her to tarry long enough among her friends to bind their hearts with a stronger tie to the home to which she has gone, as she came to the hour of death she smiled and reached upward as if to greet the heavenly messengers sent to carry her home. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. B. Priest of Blair at the M.E. Church in Kennard on Tuesday, May 10, 3 p.m. Many friends were present to show their esteem for the departed and comfort the bereaved.
