3 June, 1908 - The Pilot - John P. Jenkins

John P. Jenkins died at 8 o’clock last Thursday evening on the Ham Raver farm west of town of paralysis. The funeral was held at the Christian church in this city at 11 o’clock Friday, Rev. D. M. Sayles officiating. Deceased was born at Red Mills, Ky. April 13th, 1827, and when eight years of age moved with his parents to Illinois. In 1854 he was married to Miss Lydia C. Bruner, and of the union six children were born, two of whom are still living. Her death occurred in August, 1866, and in 1868 Mr. Jenkins was married to Catherine Cottrell, and to them were born seven children, five of whom are still living. The widow and six children survive him, Mrs. B. M. Utterback of Davis, Kan.; J. M. of Benedict, Neb.; R.A. of Cook, Neb.; F. M. of Omaha; and F. S. and Neal who live on a farm west of town.
