4 Mar., 1908 - The Pilot - Mary (Petersen) Jensen

Mrs. Peter Jensen died last Thursday at her home on the farm out near the Slocum place, having been a sufferer for many years with bronchial troubles. The funeral was held at the Rose Hill church at 1 o’clock on Saturday, Rev. J. F. Poucher of Omaha officiating. Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Ludwig and Clarence, and five daughters, Laura, Myrtle, Emma, Hannah and Clara, also one sister, Mrs. Lorentz Hansen who lives on a nearby farm and two brothers, one at Norfolk, Neb. and the other at Clinton, Mo. Mrs. Jensen was born in Norway Aug. 24th, 1854 and came to this country in 1870. She was a kind and loving wife, mother and neighbor as was readily attested by the very large attendance at the funeral service. The many friends of the sorrowing family extend their heartfelt sympathy in the sad days when grief is fresh and the bereavement seems hard to bear.

Note: The Vig Files at the Danish American Archives has her name recorded as Maren Pauline.
