#1-24 Jan., 1901 - Blair Courier - William Dorrell

The Pilot learns this morning of the death of Mr. Wm. Dorrell of Herman. Some time ago Mr. Dorrell suffered a stroke of paralysis and has never since recovered. A complication of diseases set in and he gradually became helpless. For nearly a quarter of a century he lived in Herman and spent much of his time buying grain. Last summer the Crowell Lumber & Grain Company at Herman placed a new man in charge and engaged Mr. Dorrell to assist in buying grain, getting the benefit of his long experience. Some time ago he became helpless and about two weeks ago was removed to Calhoun where the Masonic lodge of that place could personally care for him. His remains will be buried at Calhoun Tuesday at 1 p.m. and the services will be conducted by the Masons. Mr. Dorrell joined the Masonic lodge at Calhoun - Solomon lodge No. 10 - thirty years ago and has been an active member since.
