Daniel Waite died last Friday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Newell, and the funeral was held at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. J. L. Vallow officiating. Mr. Waite was born in Rhode Island April 2nd, 1820, and had therefore reached the advanced age of over 82 years. He homesteaded the J. W. Newell farm located just west of Blair in the pioneer days of 1868. Since the death of his wife in 1880, he has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Newell.
