31 July, 1902 - Blair Courier - Louis Young

Louis Young, a horse trainer who came here early last spring to drive for R. L. Graham and later entered the employ of Wm. Bryant, died last Friday night at the latter’s home in great agony from heart trouble. Mr. Bryant telegraphed to numerous places trying to get some trace of the deceased relatives, but failing in this Mr. Bryant very kindly saw that the young man was given a good burial, toward which a number of our citizens contributed financially and others gave their help and services, for which Mr. and Mrs. Bryant extend their thanks. The funeral was held Tuesday from the Bryant home, and interment made in a lot in the Blair cemetery purchased for just such emergencies. On Wednesday after the funeral had taken place and the incident thought to have been closed, a letter was received from a sister-in-law of the deceased living in Kansas asking for information regarding the unfortunate young man, and stating that his father was an inmate of the solders’ home in Leavenworth. The deceased seemed to have been a very nice young man and there is a feeling of deep sympathy in the community for one who suffered and died homeless and among strangers.

Note: May be buried in Potter's field
