Susan (Clark) Morgan
Died on 2/10/1902

13 Feb., 1902 - Blair Courier - Susan Clark Morgan Mrs. Susan Clark Morgan passed quietly away last Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theo. Haller. Heart failure was the immediate cause of death, but as she was over 91 years of age, the real cause was really senile decay. Up to ten days prior to her death she insisted on doing her own room work in order that she might not be a burden to anyone and up to the very last day her mind was remarkably bright and clear. She was an unusually intellectual woman, and could remember incidents that occurred as far back a President Monroe’s term of office in 1816. She was born Jan. 9th, 1811 near Lehenectady, N.Y. and was one of six children. The youngest sister is now living at the age of 83 years and none of the family died under that age. She was married to Rev. Charles Morgan in 1840, who held pastorates at Attica, N.Y. and Holly Springs, Miss. before going to East Troy, Wis. in 1850 where he was pastor of the Congregational church for 21 years. Since his death in 1871 Mrs. Morgan has lived around with her three daughters, Mrs. Emily Toby of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Mary Edwards of Omaha and Mrs. Haller in this city. The funeral was held at 3:30 yesterday afternoon at the house, Rev. J. W. Larkin officiating. Theo. Haller and Mrs. Edwards left on the 5 o’clock train in charge of the body which will be taken to East Troy and laid to rest by the side of her husband.
