#2-16 Jan., 1902 - Blair Courier - Louis C. Bouvier

The funeral of Louis C. Bouvier was held at the DeSoto school house last Sunday at 1:30, Rev. J. W. Larkin of the Congregational church of this place officiating. The W.O.W. lodge of DeSoto had charge of the services until the body reached this city when the Maccabees took charge and conducted their impressive burial service at the grave. Mr. Bouvier was forty two years of age, and had lived with his mother up to the time of her death a few years ago, and was never married. He caught a severe cold at a sale on Saturday, and on Sunday an aggravated case of pneumonia set in which defied the skill and care of physicians and friends. His death occurred at 5 o’clock Friday morning after less than a week’s illness. He was one of a family of six children, all of whom were at the funeral except one sister who lives in W. Virginia. He was an honest, hard working man, and had a host of friends. He carried $1,000 in both the W.O.W. and K.O.T.M lodges and was in good standing when death claimed him.
