Services for Lyle R. Jaspersen, 79 of West Point, Nebr., who died Dec. 20, 1996 at his home were Monday, Dec. 23 at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. Rev. Carl Kramer officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Lyle R. Jaspersen was born at Blair March 13, 1917 to Lawrence and Clara Hansen Jaspersen. He attended Long Creek School and Blair High School.

He worked at the Martin Bomber Plant in Omaha and in Baltimore, MD. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater from 1943-46.

He was past 4-H leader, past president of the Cuming County Farm Bureau, a Cuming County Public Power District Director, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Bustles and Beaux Square Dance Club. He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and the church's men's club. He was an usher and served on the church council.

He married Carol Maack of West Point Feb. 21, 1947. They farmed northeast of West Point until 1983, when they retired to West Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol on March 16, 1996; one brother, Avery of West Point and a brother-in-law, Bud Lorsch of Kennard.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Reinhold Munderloh of Bancroft, Nebr.; Susan and John Jacobson of Annapolis, MD and Nancy and Stan Rochlitz of Paxton, Nebr.; three grandchildren, Laura Rochlitz, William Jacobson and Elizabeth Jacobson; one sister, Irene Lorsch of Kennard; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jaspersen of West Point and many nephews and nieces.
