Susan Diedrichsen, Omaha, passed away on Nov. 17, 2020, with family by her side at the Josie Harper Hospice House after a very short, courageous fight against cancer. She was a sweet and gentle soul.

Her greatest passion was sports — particularly Nebraska football and volleyball.

Born in Lincoln on March 6, 1953, she attended a few different schools during her school years. She graduated from Blair High School in 1971. She loved the Blair Bears and followed girls softball for many years. She graduated from Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing in 1974. She worked at Nebraska Methodist Hospital for a few years before then going to Immanuel Hospital where she worked for over 25 years. She retired in 2008.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sisters Sara (Mark) Trueblood of Webster City, Iowa, and Sharon Diedrichsen of Mississippi. She was very proud of her four nieces — Iris, Justine, Grace and Sally and enjoyed her great nieces and nephews.

She loved being in the Immanuel Courtyard community in Omaha and made many friends there. She leaves behind several friends that have kept in touch with her over the years from nursing school and beyond. She will be remembered for her kindness to others always.

Family services will be held graveside at a later date.
