MISS LAWRENCE V. McCRADY PASSES AWAY

Laurence V. McCrady the subject of this brief memoir and solemn service, entered upon this life at Glade Springs, Washington county, Va. March 4, 1888. Two years ago she came west with Mrs. Lecrone and made her home here until last January when she entered the Business College at Grand Island, Neb. Three weeks ago she was taken sick with typhoid fever which proved fatal June 21st, 1909. So at the tender of 21 years, 3 months and 17 days earthly struggle and suffering were over, and she entered upon the life that knows no ending.

Miss McCrady was a pure-minded, nobel-hearted young lady, cherishing high hopes, and bending every energy to the task of acquiring a good education so that in future life she might accomplish some good and useful work. Was loved and esteemed for her many virtues, sunny disposition and good natured ways by all who knew her. During her brief stay in Kennard she made many friends.

Her only relatives in this state are Mr. John Eakin and family, while in Virginia, a loving mother, one sister, three brothers and many schoolmates today mourn and weep over her early translation to the skies.

So we gather to perform the last sad rites of Christian burial with tokens of respect and words of appreciation, drop a tear and a flower. A. J. Warne

The funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Rev. A. J. Warne officiating. The floral offerings were beautiful. Interment, Kennard cemetery.
