LAID TO REST

Roy, the six year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlsen, passed away Friday evening of last week after an illness of two weeks. The funeral was held at the Danish church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. A. M. Andersen of Blair officiating. The church was crowded to its utmost capacity with sympathizing friends and a large concourse of people followed the remains to the Kennard cemetery.

Little Roy was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlsen, and being the only boy, was idolized by his parents and sisters. He was of a sweet disposition and beloved by all. He will be greatly missed, not only at home, but in the school room where he was a great favorite with his classmates and teacher.

The beautiful white casket was banked with the choicest floral offerings. To the bereaved parents and sisters the Enterprise extends its profoundest sympathy.

Roy Rasmus Carlsen, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlsen, entered upon life in Kennard, Neb. Oct. 20, 1901, and after a short illness of two weeks closed his eyes in the last sleep Sept. 25, ’08 at the youthful age of 6 years, 11 months and 4 days, leaving father, mother, seven sisters and many relatives and scores of friends and schoolmates to weep and mourn his departure from their midst.

A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has removed
This one His love has given.
And though his body slumbers here
His soul is safe in heaven.

Weep not dear parents and sisters,
Disturb not my rest.
For God called me home —
He thought it best.
