In the death of August Ahlemeyer, who lives but a few miles from Arlington, Washington county lost a pioneer citizen and a well known and well liked citizen of the county. He had gone to Tekamah some time ago and was sawing wood for parties up there when he was taken down with appendicitis. His illness terminated fatally on Tuesday and on Thursday the funeral was held from the home and from the Lutheran church. It was one of the largest attended funerals ever held in the western part of the county, many attending from Arlington.
