Elfrieda “Freda” Michel
Died on 12/18/1903

28 Dec., 1903 - The Pilot - Freida Michel

Miss Freida Michel, who has been at death’s door with typhoid fever for several days, passed away at 12 o’clock today. Miss Michael was one of Boise’s fairest daughters, and her death will be a dreadful shock to her host of friends. Her immediate family is prostrated with grief. For three weeks deceased has been very ill, and the fever had run its course yesterday when a slight change for the better was noticed. Every possible remedy was tried, and the skill of physicians availed nothing. Her death came easily and quietly today. She was born at Blair, Neb. and lived in that city until two years ago when she came to Boise with her parents. She graduated from Rhoad’s business college and during last fall and winter was employed by J. E. Tourtelotte & Co., being a valued employee. Miss Michael would have been 18 years of age in September next, and for a number of years has been a communicant of the Congregational church and an earnest worker in the Christian Endeavor society. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon from the Congregational church. Rev. R. B. Wright officiating. - Boise paper, Dec. 18. Last Monday a letter was received at the Republican office containing news which fills the hearts of many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Michel, now residents of Boise City, Idaho, with deep sorrow. On Thanksgiving day their eldest daughter, Miss Freida, a charming and accomplished young lady of 18 years, was taken down with typhoid fever - the best doctors and nurses were employed, but she continued to fail and died on Dec. 13th. The deceased was a favorite with schoolmates, teachers and all who knew her in this city and the Republican covers their warm sympathy to the bereaved family in their new home.
