28 Sept., 1903 - The Pilot - Louisa Heuermann

After a brief sickness, lasting but a few days, Mrs. Louisa Heuermann succumbed to an attack of heart failure on Tuesday morning. About a week ago she contracted a cold and pneumonia developed at once in an acute form. Her condition was almost hopeless from the beginning of her sickness, and the complication of heart failure brought a speedy dissolution. The deceased was sixty nine years of age and was a native of Germany. During her whole life she had been a hard worker, and her thrift was one of the causes of the widespread admiration expressed for her by all who knew her. “Mother Heuermann”, by which name she was known to those who loved her best, had won the warm friendship and esteem of everyone by her kindliness and neighborly qualities and she will be greatly missed by all. Four sons and one daughter survive the union which was broken some years ago by the death of the father. Fred, George, Herman and Henry are all well known, and the daughter, Mrs. Plugge, is the wife of one of our well known Washington county farmers. The funeral took place yesterday at one o’clock from the German Lutheran church north of town of which she has long been a member, and the body was interred in the Lutheran cemetery. To the sons and daughters thus left to mourn by the sudden death of the mother, the entire community extends its heartfelt sympathy, and many of our people will mourn with them for the kind friend and neighbor whom they have been accustomed to see in our midst.
