18 Aug., 1902 - The Pilot - Ellen R. (Corkings) Palmer

This community was saddened this morning by news of the death of Mrs. E. A. Palmer at her home in this city. For several years her health has been very poor and recently her rapid decline convinced her that the end was near. Sustained by a firm faith in the philosophy of spiritualism, she calmly prepared for the closing of her earnest, happy life of usefulness and good deeds and last night, 30 minutes after 12 o’clock, she passed peacefully into that new life in which she serenely believed. To her family and large circle of friends her loss is irreparable. The simple funeral service will be at the house this afternoon at 3 p.m., after which the remains will be taken east for cremation. Ellen R. Corkings was born August 6, 1846 at New Marlboro, Massachusetts; was married to E. A. Palmer in 1867, and Dr. Carl Palmer, now residing in Philadelphia, was born in Connecticut. In 1881 the family located in this city and Miss Edna, the only daughter, now Mrs. Clark Allen, was born in this city.
