Jacob Keppell, a citizen of Washington county since 1871, was laid to rest in Blair cemetery last Saturday. The funeral services were held at the Christian church at 3 o’clock p.m. Mr. Keppell was a native of Pennsylvania, born in Lancaster county November 15th, 1837, and was 64 years old when he died. When about 19 he was married to Miss Carrie M. Marr in Indianapolis, Ind., who died 14 or 15 years ago leaving one child, a daughter who was subsequently killed in a runaway accident near Tekamah. About 13 years ago the deceased married Mrs. Nena Morrison, of whom three children were born - two daughters and a son. These, with two stepsons, are now left without paternal guidance and protection. Peace to his ashes.
