John Beatty, one of the earliest settlers of Fontanelle, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Beebe, in Stanton last Monday at the age of 88 years. Old pioneers of Fontanelle will remember that he settled there in 1855, and was proprietor of the first hotel in the town. He moved to the Hooper neighborhood afterward and from there to Wayne Co.
