The following obituary of one of the old residents of Blair we take from a Meadow Grove paper. Deceased will be remembered when the family owned the Lincoln Warrick farm, and has many friends in and about Blair, being an aunt of Mrs. Val Bunn of this city: “Mrs. Eliza J. Carpenter or ‘Grandma Carpenter’ as she is better known, died at the home of A. C. Williams last Tuesday evening, May 14th, and was buried on Wednesday, services being held in the M.E. church by E.E. Hunt. Deceased was born in Franklin county, Ohio August 31, 1823, and married I. B. Carpenter May 28, 1845, and of the four children born to them, but one is left, Wesley Carpenter of this place, the other children and father having gone on before."
