16 May, 1901 - The Pilot - Mr. and Mrs. McKercher’s Little Girl

Mr. and Mrs. McKercher, who came recently from Herman to a farm east of Horseshoe lake and about four miles from the post office, buried a beautiful little girl in the Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska cemetery today, the writer officiating at the residence. Three times death has taken away their little ones, leaving them one boy 19 years old, and while the parents were suffering more than friends and neighbors could comfort them, the grief of the young man over the loss of his little sister was beyond our pen to describe. The grandmother and other relatives from Herman and Modale, Iowa and nearby neighbors are doing all in their power to console them, and we are reminded that heaven must be very beautiful with its thousands of children bright and happy, and we do hope that everyone of these dear friends and all our readers may someday join the glad company over there.

Note: No burial records were located. Since the death date was not given the newspaper article date was used.
