18 Apr., 1901 - The Pilot - John Carl Kolterman

The funeral of John Carl Kolterman took place last Tuesday afternoon from the German Lutheran church, Rev. Giese officiating. Deceased was born April 25, 1854 in Germany. Twenty eight years ago he emigrated to this country and settled near Omaha at Millard. His first wife died after but two years of married life and in 1881 he was married to the present wife who survives him. Seven children blessed this union, six of whom are living. Six years ago Mr. Kolterman settled in Blair and engaged in the milling business, being proprietor of the Buckeye Roller Mills. During his short stay in Blair he has made many friends who esteemed him for his kindly ways. Some time ago he was stricken with inflammatory rheumatism and before he had recovered, congestion of the lungs took a hold upon him, and he succumbed. He was a member of the Lutheran church of this city and a faithful attendant. The many friends of the family sympathize with them in their hour of trouble. Carl, the oldest son, who has been seriously ill for some time is reported to be improving.
