1 Sept., 1909 - The Pilot - W. Milt Martin

The remains of W. Milt Martin were brought here last Thursday evening from the west and taken direct to the cemetery for interment. Rev. S. E. Bishop of Herman held a short service at the grave before the body was laid by the side of his first wife. Mrs. Martin and son, Osborn, accompanied the body from Pawnee City. Rice Martin of Kansas, Mr. Martin’s brother, came up with them and Miss Retta Osborn, Mrs. Martin’s sister, joined them at Fremont. Last week we only knew the contents of the telegram that Mr. Martin was dead, but did not know any particulars. We understood that he got home in the evening and was feeling as well as usual. He always slept out on the porch to get as much fresh air as possible, and Mrs. Martin had been with him up to early morning when she laid down for a rest. When she awoke about an hour later, he had passed away, evidently while asleep, for he had apparently made no struggle.
