Mrs. Samuel Miles died at about 6 o’clock last Thursday evening at St. Joseph’s hospital in Omaha. Three days before she was operated upon by Dr. Allison for gall stones, from which she had been a sufferer for years. The body was brought up to the farm home near DeSoto Saturday, and the funeral held at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Miles was born in New York state and lacked but eight days of being 54 years of age. The family has lived near DeSoto for about ten years. Besides the husband, she leaves five children, three sons, Earl, Erwin and Lloyd and two daughters, Elsie and Ella. Mrs. Miles was a lovable character, kind and helpful to all, and the entire community has suffered a great loss in her death. They extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family in this great sorrow, the loss of wife and mother.
