19 May, 1909 - The Pilot - William H. Pate

William H. Pate died at his home in North Blair last Friday after an illness of but one week from pneumonia. The funeral service was held at the Presbyterian church at 11 o’clock last Sunday, Rev. Robinson officiating. Interment was made in the Kennard cemetery. Deceased was born in Louisville, Ky. July 27, 1857, and was married to Miss Martha E. Burgess Jan. 31, 1887. Of this union eight children were born, five of whom are now living. Besides these, he leaves the wife, a brother and sister in Kentucky and one sister, Mrs. Geo. Johnson of this city. He came to this county first about 15 years ago, and for the past six years has been a resident of this city. Mr. Pate was a good husband and father and therefore a good citizen. He will be greatly missed by the family and by all who knew him.
