24 Mar., 1909 - The Pilot - John Warrick

John Warrick, an old bachelor who lived on a farm about four miles southeast of Herman, died suddenly last Wednesday afternoon of heart failure. He was trying to take a pump out of the well, but could not manage it alone and called to a neighbor boy, Frank Bailey, to help him. They got the pump out and laid it down, but the lift was too much for the old man, he staggered and fell dead of heart failure. Coroner Pierce was notified and the body brought to his morgue and held until Saturday when interment was made, nothing being heard from any relatives. In fact nothing is known of Mr. Warrick’s people aside from a letter found in his pocket from a sister in Scotland. He had a 240 acre farm, but it was heavily encumbered so he leaves practically nothing for anyone to fight over.
