9 Oct., 1907 - The Pilot - Mrs. N. G. Slader

Mrs. N. G. Slader died at home on the farm near Ft. Calhoun on Thursday, Sept. 26, after an illness of several weeks’ duration. Rev. A. G. Axtell of this city conducted the funeral at the house on the farm at ten o’clock on Saturday, and interment was made in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Slader came to this county from New Hampshire in an early day and were married here in 1868. Mr. Slader died about two years ago, and there are now left to mourn the loss of both father and mother six children: Mrs. Wm. Lonergan of Florence, Guy, who is married, lives near the old home place, Daisy, Birdie, Roy and Mark, all unmarried and living at home. Mrs. Slader was 62 years of age and had been a patient sufferer for several months, before death finally relieved her. She was a quiet, kindly soul, gracious and gentle, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
