Note: there is some problem with the spelling of her first name. The tombstone has Kirstin. The Pilot had it Kesstin, the Courier Kerson, and the Democrat Kesstin.

Mrs. Kesstin Anderson was born at Jernskag, Wormland, Sweden, June 22nd, 1838. She was married to Carl Anderson New Year’s Day, 1866, and came with him to Nebraska arriving in this state September 14th, 1870. Of eight children to them, three died in infancy; the five living are Andrew, Charles, Mary, Eva and Edwin. She was a loving mother and a faithful wife whose untiring zeal and tenderness will long live in the hearts of her husband and children. She died March 14th, 1907, a devout Christian. Since childhood, she had been a member of the Lutheran Church. The funeral service was conducted on Sunday afternoon, March 17th, at the Rose Hill church, by Rev. John Grant Shick, of Blair. Interment was made at the Rose Hill cemetery. The large congregation that gathered at the church, filling the building, was a testimony of the respect that the community held toward Mrs. Anderson. ~~~Obituaries courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
