26 Dec., 1906 - The Pilot - Cora Hester

After an illness of several weeks, Miss Cora Hester died at the Blair hospital at three o’clock a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, of peritonitis. A year ago Miss Hester suffered a severe attack of typhoid fever, and it is thought that the immediate cause of her death can be traced back to that disease. A week ago the statement was given out that she had a severe attack of pneumonia, but the shifting of her trouble gave reason to believe that she had appendicitis, but before the operation was performed it was believed that puss would be found as the result of inflammation of the bowels which was the case. Her condition after the operation did not improve, and the word was given out Sunday evening that her case was very critical. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church this morning at ten o’clock. Cora Hester was born in Blair October 20, 1881. She graduated from the Blair High school in 1901, and has spent four years teaching. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Miss Hester was always of a bright and cheerful disposition and was a favorite in a wide circle of friends who extend their sympathy to the family in the sad hour of their affliction. She leaves to mourn her loss her parents, seven sisters and one brother.
