#2-19 Jan., 1910 - The Pilot - Elbert Paul Redfield

Last Friday night was the saddest night Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Redfield have ever known, for at about 3 o’clock the angel of Death came for the spirit of their little son, Elbert Paul, and left only his fair, sweet body in their keeping. The little fellow had had liver trouble for some time and when pneumonia set in he was unable to cope with it. The funeral was held at the Baptist church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. W. Cabeen officiating. The church was filled with sympathizing friends who would gladly have helped the stricken family bear their grief if they could. Elbert was the baby boy and was an unusually apt little fellow for his years. God alone knows how the life of father and mother was wrapped up in him, and they even didn’t know until he was taken from them. The sympathy of the entire community is theirs in this, their first great sorrow.
