Nells A. Nielson was born in Maglebry, Denmark on August 9, 1841 and passed away at the home of his son, Hans A. Nielson west of Herman on Wednesday morning, July 6, 1910. Mr. Nielson came to America in 1871, and settled with his family in Burt county, Nebraska and has resided in this community ever since. Mrs. Nielson died nineteen years ago. he was the father of six boys and two girls, seven of the children, five boys and two girls, surviving him. All of his sons and one daughter were present at the funeral, one daughter, living in Colorado, was unable to reach here. The funeral was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Nielson last Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock, and was one of the largest funerals occurring in this community for many years. The services were conducted by the Danish Brotherhood Society of which the deceased was a member. The sermon was preached by the Danish minister of Blair.

Mr. Nielson was one of the most highly respected citizens of this community, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He has been suffering considerable the past year, his trouble seeming to be a general breaking down of his system and old age. The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of all who know them.
