Mrs. John Schmidt died at her home on South street last Thursday, and the funeral was held at the house at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon, Rev. Hillman of Ft. Calhoun officiating. Deceased was 75 years of age, and came to this country with her husband in the early 70’s. Mr. Schmidt used to run a blacksmith shop where the Bee Hive is now located. Besides the husband, she leaves one son, George of Herman, Mrs. Henry Rethwish of Wayne and Miss Lizzie, who lives at home.
