MRS. ELMER JENSEN DIED AT HOSPITAL HERE LAST SUNDAY

Mrs. Elmer B. Jensen, long-time resident of Washington County died at Memorial Community Hospital last Sunday, March 26th. She was 74 years of age.

Alice Marie Jensen was born at Fremont, December 10, 1897, but moved to this area as a young woman. She was married to Elmer B. Jensen, December 22, 1920 and they went immediately to their farm on Highway 31 in the south part of the county. They spent their entire active life there until retirement 9 years ago when they moved to Blair. Mr. and Mrs. Jensen live at 2140 Colfax street.

Mrs. Jensen was active in a number of organizations. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Arlington, the W.S.C.S. of Blair and the Auxiliary of World War I Veterans of Blair.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer B. Jensen and by a son, Allan Eugene Jensen, of Beatrice, Nebraska and a daughter, Mrs. D.H. Smith (Joyce) of Omaha.

A sister, Mrs. Asa B. Staley, lives at Neola, Iowa and a brother, Howard A. Christensen, resides at Chappell, Nebraska. A brother, Bill Christensen, of Lodge Pole, Nebraska, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church, Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Charles Gates conducting the service. Burial, under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, was made in the Prairie View Cemetery in the south part of the county.

The pallbearers were Joe Gutschow, Jr., George Ring, James Jensen, Bill Ray Christensen, Dean Christensen and Leo Hooks.
