FRED NEMETZ, 74, DIES ON COAST

Fred Nemetz, one-time Blair man who is well-known here, passed away August 30th at Venice, California. He had lived in California since 1938.

Mr. Nemetz was an early-day barber in Blair, having had his shop in the basement of what is now the Matthiesen building. When he was here the building served as the State Bank.

The deceased was born March 28, 1882 at Weston, Nebraska, coming to Blair when he was a young man. He was married to a Mary Bigelow who preceded him in death two years ago. He barbered in Blair thirty-five years, moving to California eighteen years ago.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Max Bain and by four sons. The sons are Dewey Nemetz, of Blair, Clifford Nemetz, Venice, California, Fred Jr. of Santa Anna, California, and Donald E. of Boulder, Colorado. There are eight children and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 4th at Venice with burial at that place.
