Ed Dickmeyer, well known in this county, died at Nicholas Senn hospital Omaha on Friday, Feb. 25, following an operation for obstruction of the bowels. He was 37 years old and leaves a wife, four children, one sister and six brothers and other relatives to mourn his early demise. His twin brother died in infancy. Deceased had lived in Washington county all his life until eight years ago when he moved to Wayne county. He returned to his former home near Arlington the first of February, and intended to again take up his chosen work of farming in the spring. He was taken sick the latter part of last week and an operation was deemed advisable, but he did not survive the shock. The funeral was held from the Lutheran church north of Arlington Monday, his six brothers acting as pallbearers. Rev. Walters preached the funeral sermon. Deceased was a son of the late Ulrich Dickmeyer, and was considered a most exemplary young man.
