From the Wednesday, August 30, 1911 Pilot, Blair, Nebraska (note: his surname was Piper)

Word was received here Monday that Adam Pipher died at 4 o’clock that morning at his home near Walthill, of stomach trouble, after an illness of about two weeks. The body was brought here yesterday afternoon on the train from the west and taken direct to the cemetery for interment, the funeral being held in Walthill in the forenoon.

Mr. Pipher lived on a farm north of town for a good many years and sold it to the Grimm Bros. two years ago and leased a farm up near Walthill. Mrs. Pipher is a sister of Mrs. A.J. Chapin, of this city. Besides the widow he leaves eight children, all living at home except the oldest son, Everett, who is married and lives on another farm. Mr. Pipher was about 50 years of age.
