MRS. MARTIN BRANDT

Mrs. Martin Brandt, who died at the family home on the block south of us where she had lived a long time, and who died on March 4, 1922, and was buried in the Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska cemetery after a number of years of severe invalidism for years after we first knew the family, was one of the hardest working German mothers we knew, and so quiet and such a lover of home and family that no one who knew her could help but respect her as a pattern wife and mother.

Mrs. Brandt was born in Robede, Germany, October 5, 1852. She leaves one married son and a married daughter in Omaha and a sister in Germany.

The pallbearers were Herman Teinsfelt, Henry Ohrt, William Kay, John Landis, Karl Kay and H. Koepke. Rev. Frank of the Presbyterian church officiated before a large audience. Mrs. Charles Rathjen and Mrs. Elsie Cook, Miss Anna Kruger and Miss Grace Neale sang the anthems. The flowers were many and beautiful. The pallbearers and choir were all her warm personal friends who had known and respected her for a good may years.
