PRENTICE SMITH DIED THURSDAY

Prentice Smith, well known farmer in the Blair area for many years, died suddenly last Thursday, the victim of a heart attack. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Smith, who resides at 509 South Fifth street in Blair, was at his farm north of Blair when he was stricken.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith had returned a few days ago from a short trip to the Wisconsin Dells, and he had been in good health of late. He had, however, suffered a heart attack several years ago but had recovered satisfactorily.

The deceased was born in Burt County July 11, 1881. He grew to manhood in that vicinity and was married to Miss Bernice Warrick November 8, 1905. The couple farmed in the Bono school district north of Blair most of their married life. They had no children.

Seven years ago Mr. Smith retired from farming and moved to Blair but had retained an active interest in the work at the farm and made frequent trips there to see how things were progressing.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice, and by two brothers, Harry Smith of Blair and Guy Smith of Craig, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Melvon Ireland and the Rev. Rex Bear conducting the service. Burial under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.

Pallbearers were Max Coffey, Harry L. Morris, A.R. Beales, Ned Tyson, Ernest Tornblad and Stuart Maurer.
