MRS. ANNA B. JENSEN RITES HELD MONDAY

A Pioneer And Member Of A Prominent Family Died November 30th

WAS MOTHER OF TEN CHILDREN

Mrs. Anna B. Jensen, aged 78 years, died at her home in Blair on Friday evening, November 30th, after a lingering illness. She was born in Omaha on April 11, 1867, and came to this county when a small child.

Deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Soren Jensen, and lived in Nebraska since the year the state was admitted. She grew to womanhood here, and on May 10, 1887 was married to Jens B. Jensen, the marriage ceremony being performed in Blair by Judge Alonzo Perkins.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Jensen immediately started farming and continued farming until they retired and moved to Blair. To them ten children were born, all living but one, Elmer, who was accidentally killed about five years ago.

The remaining children are: Mrs. Sena Wulf and Soren of Herman; Chris E., Hannah, Mrs. Esther Schenck and Mrs. Stella Hall of Blair; William of Walthill; Mrs. Elnora Hart and Mrs. Mabel Best of Glendale, California. The father died in 1935.

Besides the immediate family, Mrs. Jensen is survived by five brothers, Edward, Henry, Albert, Andrew and Nels M. Jensen; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Voss, Mrs. Myrtle Voss, and Mrs. Esther Gilbertson; also eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the Baptist church with Reverends Watson F. Lewis and D. D. Kennedy officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery. The pallbearers were six nephews.

Thus another pioneer has gone, and she leaves a host of friends who will miss her kindly ways, and she also leaves a family of children who, as the years go by, will recall her memory and the pleasant associations that only a true mother can leave as a sacred heritage to those she loved.
