GILFORD G. COMPTON DIED JANUARY 3 AT BOISE, IDAHO

Older residents of the area will remember Gilford G. Compton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Compton. Mr. Compton died at a Boise, Idaho hospital last Friday, January 3.

The deceased was born at Blair January 9, 1901. As a young man he moved to Boise in 1927 where he married and engaged in farming until 1946. Mrs. Compton died in November, 1946, after which Mr. Compton worked as a salesman for a wholesale hardware firm, and later, as a maintenance man for a Boise hospital. He was remarried to Lucille Warrick of Blair, in 1959, and he continued his work until 1966 when he retired.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, a twin brother Gifford, also of Boise, and a sister, Mrs. Betty Sieckmeyer of Blair. There are nine grandchildren.

Burial was made in Boise.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sieckmeyer, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Therkelsen and Mr. and Mrs. James Michael, all of Blair, and Mrs. Jack Hoffman of David City left December 29th via jet for Boise, Idaho, to attend the funeral of Mr. Gilford G. Compton. He was a brother of Mrs. Sieckmeyer, a step-father of Mrs. Therkelsen and an uncle of Mrs. Hoffman. They returned home on December 31.
