MRS. MELVERN WEST DIED AT BLAIR HOSPITAL THURSDAY

WIFE OF HERMAN POSTMASTER IN POOR HEALTH FOR MANY MONTHS

Mrs. Melvern West, wife of the postmaster at Herman, Nebraska, died Thursday at the Memorial Community Hospital at Blair. She had been in failing health for a number of months.

Mrs. West was born in Harrison County, Iowa but as a girl she moved to Blair with her parents and she grew up there. She was a graduated of Blair High School. Blandena Warrick West was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Warrick. She was born July 12, 1909 and was 59 years old at the time of her death.

Following her marriage to Melvern West she made her home in Herman where the couple had lived for many years. She is survived by her husband and by two sons, Warren West, of Parsons, Kansas, and by Jack West, of Grand Island, Nebraska. In addition, she is survived by two sisters. They are Mrs. Clarence Hansen of Parsons, Kansas and Mrs. Grace (Gene) Jackson, of Omaha.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22nd at the Methodist Church in Herman, the Rev. Zack Kleinsasser conducting the service. Burial was made in the Herman Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Raymond Kastl, Allan Yowell, Wilbur Lowe, Earl Reid, Ned Tyson and Gilbert Potadle.
