The death of Mrs. C. P. Hitchcock, an old resident of this county some years ago, occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.R. Sanders, last Saturday at the age of 73 years. Mrs. Hitchcock came to Washington county in 1856 and settled in what is now known as De Soto. The funeral took place from the M.E. Church at Greenwood, Sunday at two o’clock. Three sons and two daughters are left to mourn the loss of a faithful and loving mother.
