Bette J. Edwards, 93, Blair, passed away March 24, 2021. A celebration of life will be held in Backus, Minn., with family in July 2021.

Bette J. Edwards was born in Crosby, Minn., in Crow Wing County to Denzil and Ann Countryman on Sept., 18, 1927; she was the second of five daughters. After high school, Bette went on to begin her teaching degree at Bemidji State Teachers College; she later went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Dana College in Blair. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blair. After teaching, Bette enjoyed working for ENCOR for 15 years before retiring in 1991. Bette will be remembered for her beaming smile, good humor, joy of living and love for all family.

Graveside services were held Friday, March 26, 2021, in the Blair Cemetery where she was laid to rest next to her husband, George. Pallbearers included: sons Michael and wife Gloria Edwards of Bozeman, Minn., and Patrick and wife Roxann Edwards of Brighton, Colo.; grandsons: Zach Edwards and Brock Edwards; granddaughters: Anna Edwards and Michele Bredine. Honorary pallbearers include great grandchildren: Skye, Parker and Luke Edwards, Ewan and Callum Edwards, Kaela and Sammie Bredine.
