BLAIR BOY KILLED

The Republican is informed by Mr. Q.C. King, who is a brother-in-law to Gordon Alexander who was run over by the dirt train near Sioux City, Wednesday evening at 6 o’clock, that the accident happened in the following manner: The train was backing up and the caboose had become uncoupled to sidetrack when someone signaled the engineer to put on the brakes; this checked the flat cars, leaving a gap into which Alexander stepped instead of into the caboose. The cars backed over him, and he died in a few moments. Mr. and Mrs. King and the young brother of the deceased arrived in Blair this forenoon with the remains. Funeral Friday at 10 a.m. from the residence of A.P. Alexander near the Baptist church.

The deceased was an industrious and worthy young man only 22 years of age, whose tragic deeth shocked many sympathetic friends. He has two brothers in Washington and two married brothers in this city, and one young brother residing with Mrs. King at Emerson.
