Mildred L. Nixon passed away in Blair, NE. She was the daughter of Joe and Ida Stratbucker of Ft. Calhoun, NE. She is survived by daughter, Karen Andersen (Ron); son, Dan Nixon (Bev); three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Joe; son-in-law Terry; grandson Mark Andersen; granddaughter Heidi Nixon; and brother, Bill Stratbucker and wife Marjorie.

FUNERAL: Wednesday 10am at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, with GRAVESIDE SERVICES to follow in Fort Calhoun Cemetery. VISITATION: Tuesday at Campbell Aman Funeral Home, with family Receiving friends from 5-8pm. Memorials to Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian Church, or Ft. Calhoun Fire and Rescue.

Mildred L. Nixon, age 91, passed away April 16, 2021 at Carter Place in Blair, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 21 at 10:00AM at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will follow in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 20, at Campbell Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 8:00PM.

Mildred was born on October 17, 1929, the daughter of Joe and Ida Stratbucker. She lived her entire life on the farm. When she was young, she helped her family grow vegetables for the Farmers Market in Omaha. She attended Slader Grade School and Ft. Calhoun High School. After graduation she worked at the Omaha National Bank. She married Joeseph Nixon on December 20, 1947, and they farmed in the area growing corn, beans, cattle, and chickens. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her family. She also worked a number of years at Wilkinson Manufacturing in Ft. Calhoun and Klopps Jewelry in Blair. Milly was a lifelong member of Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian Church, a 70-year member of Ft. Calhoun’s Order of The Eastern Star and belonged to the Coffman Club, a social group of women in the community, making life long friends.

She is survived by daughter; Karen Andersen (Ron), Son; Dan Nixon (Bev), grandsons; Todd Andersen (Shelly), Chad Nixon (Jennifer), Cory Nixon (Carrie), great grandchildren; Bailey, Maggie, Chase, Robbie, Kyle, Grant, Gage, Colton, Greyson and Emma. She was preceded in death by husband Joe, son in law Terry Andersen, grandson Mark Andersen, granddaughter Heidi Nixon and brother Bill E. Stratbucker and his wife Marjorie.

Memorials may be directed to the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue.
