Hans Jorgen Staben passed away at his home August 14th at the age of 85.

He was born in Germany and came to the United States as a small child. He farmed near Ft. Calhoun until he secured employment as an engineer at the Florence Water Works in Omaha. He retired eight years ago.

Survivors besides his wife Anna are Clifford H. Staben of Herman, a son; 2 grandsons, Clifford and Marvin and a great grandson David. Also one brother Marvin Staben of Nampa, Idaho and a sister Matilda Barnard of Denver.

The Kremer Funeral Mortuary at Benson is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services are at 2 pm Thursday (today) at the Mortuary and burial will be in the Springwell Cemetery in Benson.

Pallbearers are: Douglas Peterson, Olaf Kaer, Jim Knag, Bill Stratbucker, Bom Riechel and Harold Saltzman.
