Gwendolyn Mae Fillis, age 90, of Blair, passed away Aug. 13, 2021, with her daughter by her side. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m., at Passageway Church. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Campbell Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m..

Gwen was born on March 19, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Bernice (Evans) Welk. She was raised on a farm in Murray County, Minn., and was a graduate of Chandler, Minn., High School. Later, Gwen moved to Denver, Colo., where she served in the Naval Reserves, worked in the area, and eventually met Bill Fillis. The couple married in 1960 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. Gwen worked most of her career as a medical records technician. She enjoyed bowling and Minnesota Twins baseball. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Gwen is survived by her children, Michael (Beth) Fillis, Michelle (Paul) Lindgren, and Mark (Val) Fillis; grandchildren, Ryan and Robert Fillis, Allison (Seth) Lawrence, Evelyn, Isaac and Julia Lindgren, Greg and Derek Fillis; sister, Ardys Dirckx, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be directed to the Fenwick Island Baptist Church.
