CARROL CLEAVER

This community was saddened by the death of one of its native young men, Carrol Cleaver, who passed away in Omaha on September 25, lacking but a few weeks of 21 years of age. Although Carrol for the past two years had been subject to periodic attacks of illness they were usually of short duration and he was able to remain steadily at his work in Omaha. His death was entirely unexpected, resulting from a sudden illness that struck him during the night, his lifeless body being found in the morning by the landlady where he made his home.

Carrol, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cleaver, was born on a farm east of Fort Calhoun on November 10, 1923. He graduated from the Ft. Calhoun high school in 1940, and through his genial disposition and his gentlemanly conduct at all times endeared him to not only his school companions and teachers but to all in the community. The sincere sympathy of everyone goes out to the bereaved parents in this the loss of their only child.

The funeral services were held at the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Layton Jackson. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.
