Funeral Service June 10 for V. W.

Funeral services were held at Hamel and Peck funeral Home Monday afternoon, June 10, at 2 o’clock Vernon Frankhouser, who died June 7. Services were in charge of the Rev. Maynard Falk and burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Mrs. Maynard Falk sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Nearer My God to Thee.” Mrs. Sam Morton was accompanist.

Pallbearers were Paul Modlin, Reuben Athey, Archie Elue, Harold Prusia, Robert Coffman Sr. and Robert Nelson.

Vernon William Frankhouser was born June 28, 1892 to David and Nora Frankhouser in Union City, Mo. and died June 7, 1963 at the McBride Home in Blair at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 9 days.

His boyhood home was spent near Lebanon, Mo. and at Lincoln. He moved to the Adventist community northeast of Tekamah in 1908, when he devoted his life to farming.

On May 9, 1917, he was united in marriage to Nellie Jensen. To this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie, on October 3, 1962.

Survivors are his sons, Harry of Herman and Robert of Tekamah. Two daughters, Iola Reves of Poudre Canyon, Colo. and Bonnie Updike of Blair; two sisters, Ethel and Lorraine Frankhouser of Pontiac, Mich.; and 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
